The first los suenos fishing reports received tonight were pretty good for fishing out of Los Suenos…good bite just 18 ish miles offshore.
The 60' Bertram went 5 for 7 on sail, caught a couple mahi mahi and had a wahoo bite off a bait. They caught 4 sails by noon but then only 1 after noon. The people had paid for the 33' Proline and got bumped up to the 60? Bertram with direct tv, leather couches and ice cold ac….lucky. Owner says good deal available all green season.
The 36' Topaz had at least 10 sailfish bites last I heard on the radio.
My buddies got a late start on our boat but still had 4 sailfish bites…a wahoo also tried to wreck two of our best teaser/lures…lumo and evil angel.
The weather remains steady on the Pacific coast with sunny days, light winds and some evening showers. The charter dock is still pretty slow but the fishing is not bad.
One of the 32' on the charter dock went for a half day yesterday and released 3 sails, kept a mahi and saw a marlin.
The 28' center console did a 3/4 day trip went 2 for 4 on sailfish and caught 3 mahi. They also saw a marlin while fishing out 25 miles by the corner.
There have been more marlin around than usual and that gets all the captains fired up. Almost every captain would trade 25 sailfish for 1 marlin. Marlin are the king and it seems like right now that 50% of the boats that go offshore are getting a shot at one.
